Challenge
When restaurant dining shut down, the Tasca do Bife team needed an online grocery that could sell the day's freshest products without warehouse stock - and they needed a brand and shop that could launch in days, not months.
Approach
We built a Shopify storefront with a clear visual identity and the features the ops model required: catalog and collections for frescos and grocery, checkout with local payment options, order cutoffs, and delivery thresholds for Greater Lisbon and the South Bank.
Outcome
Tasca Express launched as a zero-stock mercearia online - next-day fresh delivery, press coverage across Portuguese media, and early traction with more than a hundred loyal customers.

What we built together
The engagement covered the Shopify storefront end to end: theme structure, brand and visual identity so marketing and the shop felt like one product, and a catalog organised around meat, fish, produce, grocery, and hygiene essentials from Portuguese suppliers.
We shaped the shopping experience around the stock-zero model - customers order by the afternoon cutoff, suppliers prepare the day's products, and deliveries land the next day. Delivery rules reflected real ops: minimum order, fixed shipping, and free delivery above a spend threshold.
Checkout supported the payment mix local customers expected, including cards, bank transfer, meal cards, and MB Way. Content and collections made frescos and pantry goods easy to browse without pretending the business held warehouse inventory.
The result was a commerce surface the team could run and evolve quickly - identity, storefront, and features aligned to a pandemic-era grocery that had to feel trustworthy from day one.
